Zamp delighted with Rossi

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini is delighted with the work Delio Rossi is doing for the club.

Rossi took charge of Palermo in November after Zamparini decided to fire Walter Zenga.

He has led the Rosanero to fifth place in Serie A, prompting some to even suggest that Champions League qualification isn't out of their reach.

Speaking to Radio Anch'io Sport, Zamparini said: “We'll see if we're in a position to make a push for the Champions League in a month's time. The season is defined in March. Anyway, I am already happy today.

“It was lucky to find Rossi available. He is working very well. He has great confidence in himself. Delio doesn't transmit any nervousness to the team. He makes the players calm instead.”

Finally Zamparini turned his attention to Simon Kjaer and Javier Pastore, the team's two young stars.

“I see Javier as one of the best central midfielders of the next five years. He was a star in Argentina. The people there considered him to be so at the age of 18.

“He isn't just technically gifted, Javier already knows how to manage himself as a man. He knows how to behave despite his young age just like Kjaer,” Zamparini concluded.
